The big freeze is upon us at last, this is the most snow we’ve had for a few years at least. It came down quick over the course of 2 nights and a day, about 40 cm worth. It is stunning when it first arrives, but now several days later the novelty is wearing off! Minus 8 the other night I’m told…driving needs care, I’ve seen two cars gone over into the rice fields this week and where the sun doesn’t reach it packs down into ice and refuses to melt. Nothing for it but to fill up the wood stove and wait it out!
